so maybe that is problem, if you want output LED work, you should connect Vin terminal with DC12v power supply. i think you have not connected. that's why i need see photo.

I know but the software is not recognizing the input signal.
Output 12V is connected to output common-block but also when I select the output in SW the output LED does not light up.

wire is OK, you can download KCS firmware to test digital input ports firstly. if KCS firmware work well, that means hardware PCB is ok. then check tasmota setting.

Great that worked! Boards seems OK for input and outputs. I loaded Tasmota firmware but it is unclear to me what and how to configure it as nothing is working with that firmware .. . . . . . Any suggestions where I can find a procedure?

just config digital input ports for PCF8574, make sure you downloaded firmware that enabled PCF8574 library.
