Scan Device tool considered as Trojan?! - iwzr - 03-21-2023 Hi, I just wanted to flash the firmware of my devices and downloaded the KinCony Scan Device tool from https://www.kincony.com/download/KinCony-SCAN_Device.zip but my AntiVirus thinks it is a Trojan. Here are the screenshots: Then I let virustotal.com check the zip, https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/035bbd5e1b640ed18ec09c393403816d3697d5e090ccf3e31ba47dc236f40b38 the result is not very good. It says: 22 security vendors and no sandboxes flagged this file as malicious This is not good. I am sure it is a false positive from vendors, but you should do something about it. RE: Scan Device tool considered as Trojan?! - admin - 03-22-2023 Don't worry about it, because it needs to read some hardware information for network scanning. RE: Scan Device tool considered as Trojan?! - admin - 03-22-2023 you can download and try this version. it have updated. UDP_SCAN_LIST.zip (Size: 15.88 KB / Downloads: 272) RE: Scan Device tool considered as Trojan?! - iwzr - 03-22-2023 I trust kincony, therefore I did not worry, but I was not able to use it on my work notebook, because I am not able to turnoff the antivirus. The new tool works perfectly. Thank you. Maybe you could replace the old tool with the new one? RE: Scan Device tool considered as Trojan?! - admin - 03-22-2023 yes, we already have replaced the file on our webpage download link. Now just use UDP_SCAN_LIST tool is ok. |
