Can no longer change User/PW - mookiebud - 08-07-2025

Board Model: KC868_A16
Software Version : v2.2.14
Build Date: Jun 26 2025 07:36:40

Web interface on Ethernet ....

Originally I was able to change the user name and password. However, at some reasonably early setting changes, the KC868 stop responding over Ethernet. I noted the port actiivity seemed to be intermittent. In other words, the activity lights would flash for perhaps a second and then turn off. The board seemed to be in continuous reset?

Anyhow, I decided to re-flash the FW (with the same version above). That appeared to be successful and permitted me to login with the default UN/PW (admin/admin).

However, the minute I went to change the 'System', I immediately was presented with the login screen again. Several repeats later, ie, I login, go to 'System', login, go to 'System' I figured maybe an 'ERASE' cycle with ESP's firmware tool would help .... it didn't.

Why can't I now change the User Name and Password even though I could on the initial configuration.

PS: Clicking on the upper right 'Admin' -> 'Change Password' has the same cycle of repeatedly asking for login info.

TIA.

Full factory reset — check if there’s a hardware reset button or a specific reset procedure that clears all settings, not just the firmware.
