RS485 communicattion - SixSixOne - 10-02-2025
Hello again,
I have one KC868-G1 and one KC868-AI could you please assit on how to connect each other with RS485 connection and use the G1 to read all digital inputs from the AI in home assistant.
The reason I need RS485 is for redundancy in case network drops.

I do not know how to setup KC868-G1 as Modbus-master and KC868-AI as Modbus slave in order to receive to KC868-G1 all digital input status of the KC868-AI.
Could you please give some instructions as there is no setting in the web interface for master/slave declaration.
Otherwise please advise yaml example forr master/slave in ESPhome if possible.

KCS firmware only use pcb as "SLAVE".
if you want use by "MASTER", you can config by ESPHome. check with ESPHome online guide.

Are you planning to include "master" function as well in the future? It will be very helpful.
