flash Kincony software to KC868-AP - guycaluwaerts - 01-06-2026
I flashed the Kincony software to the KC868-AP board.
Because I'm working with a MIFI 4G router I can only make a connection over WIFI. Fix connection with ethernet cable is not possible.
I suppose the esp32 on the board has to be in AP-mode to fill in the correct SSID and password or my network.
How can I put the board in AP mode ?

download KCS v2 firmware, default will work as AP mode. here is KCS v2 online guide: https://www.kincony.com/esp32-kcsv2-firmware.html

I flashed this software ( KCS_KC868_AP_V2.2.18.zip (Size: 784.65 KB / Downloads: 53) ), but the esp32 does not come in AP after restart or reset.
feedback when bin-file is flashed to the board

it have showed download successfully. you need power off->on of your board. then login by ethernet webpage or wifi AP webpage.

the board is not in AP after start up. When I check the list of SSID's available, I cannot see the board

I also tried to flash a esp32 wroom nodemcu for test with the software, but the same result. The esp32 does not come in AP-mode

what's firmware file name you have downloaded? your photo can't see the file name.

KCS_KC868_AP_V2.1.9.bin but I also tried KCS-KC868_AP_V2.2.18.bin

after you downloaded "KCS-KC868_AP_V2.2.18.bin" , can't see wifi AP signal, right?
if "YES", we will test next week.

cannot see the wifi ap when I flash the bin-file.
I also tested the esp32 with an arduino sketch. The esp32 is ok because I can see at that moment the wifi ap signal and I have also access with the browser to the esp32
