450 Hz allowed on input? - Mikkel88 - 11-02-2026

Hi KinCony,
I am using the KC868-A8v3.1 with an ESP32-S3.

I want to connect a YF-B10 water flow sensor generating approximately 450 Hz pulses at maximum flow.

Can AI1 (GPIO7) or AI2 (GPIO6) be used as a digital pulse counter input with ESP32 PCNT?
Specifically:
  1. Is there any RC filtering or other circuitry between the AI terminal and the ESP32 GPIO?
  2. Can the analog input circuit reliably pass 450 Hz pulses?
  3. Can you provide an example of using AI1/GPIO7 as a pulse counter with ESPHome or ESP-IDF?
Thank you.

analog input port can't use for pulse, only use for 0-5v or 4-20mA signal.

Thank you for the clarification.
Can I use one of the spare ESP32-S3 GPIO pins directly as a digital pulse input for the YF-B10 flow sensor?

The sensor generates approximately 450 Hz at maximum flow.

Specifically:
  • Which spare GPIO pins are accessible and suitable for pulse counting?
  • Can these GPIO pins be used with ESP32 PCNT hardware in ESPHome?
  • Is there any onboard filtering or protection that would affect pulse counting?

you can use these :
1-wire GPIOs (with pull-up resistance on PCB):
S1:GPIO40
S2:GPIO13
S3:GPIO48
S4:GPIO14

the gpio only have pull up resistance on PCB
