I think we can change the action OPEN/CLOSE by relay ON/OFF, that will be easy to understand, not use OPEN/CLOSE words.

As promised, after detail check look IFTTT not defined on any case what is subject of logical operation. It is just same as most other programming language: IF .. Then.
In this case your idea is good use On/Off, of course in meaning energized the relay coil.
On - relay coil voltage present
Off - relay coil voltage not present
