Issue with KC868-H32B Pro Relays Stuck ON – Need Help
Hi, I need some help with my KC868-H32B Pro relay board.
I connected the L (Live) to the left terminal of Relay 1, and the right terminal of Relay 1 to a 25W LED bar (0.15A current draw). Then, I connected N (Neutral) directly to the other wire of the LED bar.
When I turned Relay 1 ON, the LED bar lit up as expected. However, after that, the relay never switched OFF again, and now Relay 1 no longer clicks. On the Kincony web interface, the relay status updates (ON/OFF), but there is no physical "click" anymore.
I then repeated the exact same setup on Relay 2, and the same thing happened – Relay 2 is now stuck as well.
Questions:
  1. What happened, and why did both relays stop working?
  2. How can I fix this issue?
  3. Is there a way to reset the relays or check if they are damaged?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I had the same issue, discussed here https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5725

Basically the integrated relays are rather small and they do not handle large currents. A lot of LED lights (especially cheap ones, but sometimes even higher-end ones) create what is called high inrush current - for a few milliseconds, you have several amps going through the switch. This is enough to fry it shut.

This is why you are supposed to use the integrated relays to drive larger external ones, or solid-state relays. You could use for instance these https://www.kincony.com/omron-din-rail-r...odule.html

You have another discussion here about this:
https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=7442

For my own case, I bought spare relays, I desoldered the relay from the board and I soldered a new one instead. I know now that I need to use external relays for some specific lamps in my house...

For more info you can google "high inrush current".

Tha ks for your prompt and interesting answer. I read the thread you mentioned.

@admin I asked before purchasing if this product was ok for my setup. I have to connect to each Relay 10 t8 LED  with each 25W and 0,15A. Planning to use all 32 Relay same way. The answer from XU WEI on ALIBABA was "no problem", each relay can take up to 7A

What can I do now?

If the instantaneous current is too high, an extension relay or contactor can be added. You can open the H32B Pro metal box and tap the relay. If the contacts can be released, it can still work normally. If it remains closed, it indicates that the contacts have been bonded and the relay can be replaced.

I understand but is not what I ve been told on alibaba from XUWEI. I asked if it was fine to attach to each relay led tube with each 0,15A and the replay was yes,and apparently was not true. so now what are we doing?

because we don't know your power supply current. if you can solder , we can send you relay , maybe you can replace relay by yourself.

I just knock gently on the relay and now is working again. That is fine. the problem is make this thing useful as it meant to be.

As said before  purchasing the board this is what it should do:

it is used for vertical farming.
The scheme should be simple:

A Raspberry pi 5 controll the HB868H32pro board.
Each relay control a single layer of a shelf. On each layer there are n.12 t8 LED bars with following specs: AC 180-240V, 25W, 0,13A

This means in total should be able to control 12x32 LED t8 bars. Total of maximum 384bars.

You told me on alibaba this board was enough and each relay can manage up to 7A output with 220V power input.

1.how can we make it works
2.if is not working as promise we have to organize a refund but I will be very disappointed because we were planning to buy several for this system.

If this working with my system it will be fine. Are you sending me a pvt message?
