Hey everyone.

First off, a lot of what I'm asking will be novice questions here, but I'm a quick learner.

I have a set of automated blinds that are controlled with a remote on 433.92Mhz. I purchased a KC-868AG Pro in order to be able to automate them using Home Assistant. I did check out some material on the device before I bought it, but it seems a lot of it assumed some basic setup had been done before hand and I'm struggling with that. I am a technical person and work in IT, but haven't done much with these kinds of devices. Clear documentation and firmware is not easy to find on KinCony's web site and after spending quite some time, I'm not sure I'm going down the right path.

I have downloaded and installed the CH431SER driver on Windows 11 and the device does get detected when plugged in with USB. From what I understand, the next step is to install the ESPHome firmware for this device. However, I cannot find it. Every page about firmware on this forum I can find doesn't list one for this model and I can't find anything for it on the main web site. As I understand it, I can't join the device to my wi-fi or start programming it without this, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. In addition, is USB power all this device needs for what I want to do or will I need a separate power adapter? Since it powers on and it reachable over USB alone, I'm assuming that's all I need for my use case but again, it's unclear. I understand that I also need a default YAML file for ESPHome for Home Assistant to recognize the device. Is this the case and if so, is there somewhere I can grab that as well?

Once I get the basics done, I think I can figure things out from there. I'm just at a loss on these beginning steps.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

I brought the AG Pro in June of 2024 when i saw that it had all in one as a Gateway. It was advertised in such a way that it was all in one solution. But as soon as i received it, i found that many of the things advertised is not functioning out of the box. the Zigbee had to be used with tasmota and remaining functions like IR, RF, Tuya and to be with Kincony firmware. and on top of this both firmware cannot work together. I some how managed to flash the Tasmota firmware because i needed the ZHA integration.. and this worked until last month. Now the tasmota firmware has failed to recognize the Zigbee device inside. i tried rolling back to several tasmota version but it all remains the same.

I sent a message to their support and all the response i get is to change the firmware. I feel dumped.. Kincony should have either fixed the firmware issues or informed the customer that these problems exits. 92$(inc Shipping) wasted.

Hello Admin and respected members,
I purchased the AG8 control board , and I’m currently working on a smart home project. I would like to integrate this board with ESPHome to control four Gree air conditioners.
I need a YAML configuration file that allows me to:

Turn each AC unit on and off individually

Also control the temperature for each unit

It would be very helpful if the YAML file includes clear comments for each part, to make it easier to understand.
I already checked the ESPHome documentation for Gree ACs:

Hello,

I recently received a kc868-ag unit and have successfully learned an ir key fob and transmitted, (via the KCS device webserver), the learned ir signal to the device being controlled. I would like to use the onboard gpio pins to enable a couple of the esp inputs to work via some dry contacts we have on our solar/inverter to start/stop our small propane generator with the ir signals. How to utilize the onboard free gpio's via the KCS webserver on the device? I don't see the option for Inputs, Outputs in the Index menu. Online, it shows the input and outputs at the webserver index. Perhaps I have to use another means to program the io's? I have installed the pins for the 16 gpio items on the board and would like to take a couple wires out to the inverter generator start contacts.

Thanks in Advance for your thoughts!, Matt
First tried ESP Home firmware using Daikin_ARC for ESPHome.
Unfortunatelly it was not able to controll the AC Unit.
Them, tried all other Daikin AC for ESP Home (Daikin_BRC and simple Daikin)
None of them worked.

I also flashed AG8 with KCS firmware, but when learning is done, it says SUCEEDED but no code is shown. After trying to send code to AC Unit, it does not work either.
In the back of AC remote control, it says ARC452A10.
