Hi,

The Uair case seems like a cool solution for DIY room sensors of any type but I'm not sold on the default PCB which is pretty expensive and contains features I do not need (like GPRS). However it seems to me that a case with nothing in it (eg no usb connector or LED) is also less than ideal as getting everything built into it and aligned is a pain.

Is there a barebones PCB option? For example the PCB + USB B/C connector + break out header for the USB terminals? That would mean the PCB would be very cheap, but installing my own ESP32 and sensors would be easy....

Thanks!

I will be swapping the board in a KC868-UAIR case over at some point because the original board didn't work. I see there are 2 small screws securing the board into the bottom of the case but I'm not able to see what size and head the screws are because they are in quite a deep well. I've zoomed in with my iphone and got good lighting in place, but the screws are so tiny, I'm not able to make out what type of screw driver to use. I don't want to strip the heads taking them out, so does anyone know what screws these are? There is a video of someone assembling the case, but it doesn't explain this.

I'm hoping my KC868-UAIR works with all its devices and in preparation for that I've looked at the tower case the board goes into. The IR receiver is to the left of the 2 USB sockets on the board, but the case has no clear window for IR signals to go through and reach the board itself. Also I've noticed that the 4 IR transmitters on the board are placed close to the clearish plastic ring that runs round the outside of the case, but if the LED lights on the KC868-UAIR are on, will signals being able to get out of the tower case to reach my devices?

Has anyone used this device and is prepared to comment on the way the case works to let IR light in and allow IR light out when the lights of the KC868-UAIR are on?

KC868-UAIR ESPHOME Config for IR and RF

I've recently received a bare board for a KC868-UAIR as the original shipped with the tower case didn't work. I've got the new board working with ESPHOME and Home Assistant using the config I was given and that works fine. But the config didn't cover the buzzer, the IR receiver/transmitter and RF receiver/transmitter. These are advertised features, so I want to make sure the new board works. I got the buzzer working ok, but I'm struggling with the IR and RF.

I've been asked by the supplier to make a post here, so here it is :-)

What I've done so far is to try to read IR codes using the guide is ESPHOME located here:
https://esphome.io/components/remote_tra...p-infrared

Using the tech info on the KC868-UAIR I've added the following to my ESPHOME confg given the data located here:
https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1438

remote_receiver:
pin: GPIO19
dump: all

With that, the ESPHOME log says that the pin is high initially and that I should invert it. Anyway, I placed the TV remote close the front of the board where the IR receiver is next to the USB ports and no data was received. The TV did receive them as I have the TV directly behind the board and the TV worked (volume up/down)

So I inverted the pin with

remote_receiver:

I'm tyring to use a K868-Uair with ESPHome but I have some problems ! According at Kincony ducomentation it should GPIO32 and 33 to control RGB LEDs of bottom ring and vertical bar ! Unhappy these two GPIOs are doing exactly the same thing: control the ring only and only 3 LEDs of it
Someone has the proper GPIO configuration of that board ?
Noticed also that the Dallas temperature sensor is a chinese copy I think as it's 4/5° offset of other temperature sensors I have in the room
