I guess I'll have to live with this Sword of Damocles hanging over me for a while; for now, though, I've mostly set everything up for the lighting, so I don't have any critical equipment relying on those boards. I could easily move my water heater or a radiator if necessary.
I was planning to get a tablet as soon as possible. I admit I hadn't picked a main spot for it yet, but there aren't exactly endless options. A central location—if I can open up the kitchen—seems perfect (indicated by the big black arrow).
While I'm at it: blue marks standard power outlets; orange marks those connected to a UPS (19" rack and office computer/monitor outlets); red marks dedicated circuits (cooktop, oven, washing machine, etc.); and green marks RJ45 ports. The black box representing my utility room is in the basement.
Oh, and I decided to knock down an entire partition wall just today, so who knows what might change before the major work begins.
I started ordering my electrical gear today. I'm going with a 4x18-module unit for the main electrics and an 800x600x300 enclosure for the home automation system. The price-to-quality ratio is actually pretty good.
