if you want use DHT22, you can config by ESPHome, not use by KCS firmware, because KCS v3 support DHT22 sensor, KCS v2 not support directly.

If I replace DHT22 with DHT11, will I be able to display it in Home Assistant without reflashing the ESP?

if use by ESPHome, not need change code. it's same for DHT11 or DHT22 sensor.

I don't use ESP, I use firmware v2.2.14 and connect to HA via mqtt.
If I replace the DHT22 sensor with DHT11, will I be able to see the temperature in HA without reflashing?

Do I need to make any additional settings so that the sensor appears in Home Assistant? It is not registered anywhere.

not need add another component, the port already include pull up resistance on PCB.

The paid version is not suitable. What other ways are there to forward my temperature sensor to Home Assistant and leave the KCS 2 firmware?
