Hi, I had the same problem.
only 1 thing helps to me
1.I did a complete system wipe by holding down the reset button!!
2. https://web.esphome.io/?dashboard_wizard
3.Then I connected via COM port USB
4.then instal new firmware like on instruction and start working!
