how to integrate KC868-A8 to home assistant by MQTT
#41
I'm so far that I could modify the configuration.yaml file and I restarted home assistant.
I can see the in- and outputs. Probably this information is from the configuration file, but there is no communication with the board

your yaml file , some use by A8 topic, some use by A16 topic. The content is very confusing.
but firstly, make sure your mqtt broker is correct.

broker address is wrong. you should input such as "mqtt://192.168.1.3"
don't use domain ,only input mqtt://ip address

I made the corrections, but still have problems with the communication between the kc868-a16 and homeassistant.

I checked with mqtt-explorer ( see attachment) and see homeassistant server and the  kc868-a16 board. (status homeassistant is most of the time offline)
In the overview screen from homeassistant I can activate the output but after a second the switch go off again. Nothing happens on the board, so the command is not send to the  kc868-a16 board.

Another problem I have is with the board.
When I go the the network page, I receive the login screen. The network screen does not open.

Board : KC868-A16 rev. 1.6
bin file loaded : KCS_KC868_16_V2.2.17

Homeassistant 3/12/2025

Mosquitto : 2.0.22

I got it working.
Broker username and password has to be defined in homeassistant as user.
