Before digging too deep, I’d suggest enabling verbose boot logging and checking the pin assignments for WIFI_EN or CH_PD. If the board needs one of these held HIGH for WiFi, and ESPeasy isn’t doing it automatically, that would explain the WL_STOPPED status.
