Digital Input B8M Voltage Range?
#1
Hi,
is it ok to directly attach 14V Signals (from car) to the digital inputs of B8M? If not, can I reduce the signal with a voltage-divider to <5V and then attach to DI1-8?
Thanks from switzerland!

14v is ok for B8M, but not suggest for long time, because usually use by 12v.

1. In this case, what would be the maximum permanent voltage on the digital input?
2. Do I need to add transient supression or is it already included.
3. Can you share schematic of input circuit?
Thanks!

sorry, B8M 14v is ok, max is 24v. B8 max is 12v.

Are the inputs protected against transient spikes in automotive environment or do I have to add it myself?

suggest add protect by yourself.

Directly connecting 14 V signals from a car to the B8M digital inputs is not recommended, as the DI pins are usually designed for 5 V logic and can be damaged by higher voltages.
