Homekit firmware for KC868-A32
#1
Hi guys,

i have bought KC868-A32 board, and my plan is to use relays on board to control some devices using apple homekit environment.
I am not going to implement or develop any software. I just need to flash firmware for this board and then add it to homekit.

However i am struggling what firmware/software/bin to use, or how to do it. I have successfully flashed KCS firmware but it is not supporting homekit.
I found that homespan package in ArduinoIDE would help, but as i said i am not going to develop software based on examples.
i want to automate devices within homekit.

Please advice how to make relays in KC868-A32 board visible in homekit. Is some homekit firmware available and ready for use like for HB32-PRO?
Actually i bought this board because it was stated that it supports homekit.

Thank you.

if you want homekit now, you can write your own arduino code, or download homespan code.
now we are developing new "KCS" firmware version, in furture, will support homekit, if you not hurry, you can wait for our new update.

Hi, thank you for feedback.
when do you estimate release of kcs with homekit support? Is there a homespan code for relays available for this board? thanks.

now i now sure estimate time.
homespan is open source free arduino project. you can install esphome library in arduino IDE, free to use, easy to use. we have YouTube video tour about home span:

I have successfully installed KCS, now i am trying to upload the homespan example to the board.
Compilation is successful, however upload fails.
I am using MacOS Ventura.
Do i need to somehow delete KCS from the board before uploading Homespan?
I also installed the driver for USB/UART CH34x_Install_V1.5.pkg for MacOS.
I am getting message as shown on screenshot.
What am i doing wrong?

do you use same USB cable with your computer to download "KCS" firmware is work well?

Yes i do use the same cable but different computer.
I only was able to download kcs with windows computer. Is there a bootloader that will work with arduino once i flashed kcs to the board? It seems that this the problem. Board is not responding. How can i get the board to initial state only with bootloader working with arduino?

sure, if you compile with arduino ide, just directly to download. if you download arduino BIN file, maybe you need to add other files to ESP Tool, such as bootloader, partion.. etc. i suggest you download by arduino ide have a test, i think will be no problem.

Thank you.

Can you please give example how to use MQTT broker to control relay on board when using KCS firmware.
Thanks.

1. how to order tuya license see here details: https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2544
2. if you want to use "KCS" with MQTT, just enable the protocol "MQTT" in webpage and fill all settings for MQTT broker is ok. then you can see the MQTT command at here: https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2529
